David Bruce
The second son of Ossie and Daisy, and the batchelor of the family. Joined his brothers and cousins at Waiuku Primary, later transferring to
Kohekohe, it may have been when the school became a fulltime school. Leaving school at the end of 1921 due to illness. He then worked on his parent's farm at Te Toro. When his father moved to Colville he took over part of the farm with his brothers. About 1934 or 1935 Bruce left Te
Toro and worked on farms in Tuakau and Raglan districts, before moving to Poverty Bay and later Hawkes Bay where he held various farms
positions, from shepherd to farm manager on sheep and cattle stations for many years. Bruce retired to Auckland to live with his father at
Mariri Rd, remaining there, after the death of his father until he moved to Selwyn Village.
