The only son of Kathleen, completed most of his schooling in Gore, spending his final two years at Waiuku High School where they had moved after his father's death. Snowy, as he was known among the family, used to spend a night on a fairly regular basis at my parents home at Parawera.
A memory as a young child, I can recall him entertaining we children by twitching his ears. In later years there were visits to Snowy and Zena on their farm at Waipipi, where one can recall the wind swept tortured trees of the West Coast. Zena & Snowy only enjoyed ten years of married
life, before his death in Middlemore Hospital in 1967. Zena moved to Waiuku, and has kept her self busy gardening, and teaching music to many young pupils.
